Program Information

Program Name: EggieNet Platform Two-Factor Authentication

Operated By: EggieNet Inc.

Purpose: Sending one-time verification codes (OTP) for two-factor authentication to secure your account login.

Message Frequency: 1-3 messages per login session. Messages are only sent when you initiate a sign-in or security action.

Message & Data Rates: Standard message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan.

Opt-Out & Help

To Opt Out: Reply STOP to any message at any time to stop receiving SMS messages. You will receive a confirmation message and will no longer receive SMS from this program.

How You Opt In (Message Flow)

Users consent to receive SMS messages through the following steps:

Step 1 — Registration (Optional Phone Number)

During account registration at eggienet.com/register, users may optionally enter a mobile phone number. The form displays: message frequency (1–3 per login), "Msg & data rates may apply", "Reply STOP to opt out", and links to this SMS Policy, our Privacy Policy, and Terms of Service. Providing a phone number alone does not trigger any SMS messages.

Step 2 — Enable SMS 2FA (Explicit Opt-In)

After signing in, the user navigates to Profile Settings > Two-Factor Authentication and explicitly enables SMS-based 2FA. This is the point of opt-in. SMS messages are never sent until the user takes this explicit action. The settings page displays the same consent disclosures.

Step 3 — Verification Codes Sent on Login

When the user signs in with SMS 2FA enabled, an automated SMS containing a one-time 6-digit verification code is sent to their registered phone number. The message reads: "EggieNet: Your verification code is XXXXXX. It expires in 10 minutes. Reply STOP to opt out." This is the only type of message sent. No marketing or promotional messages are ever sent.

Mobile Data Sharing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Your phone number is never sold, rented, or shared with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. Your phone number is shared with Firebase (Google) solely for the purpose of delivering verification codes.

Important Disclosures

SMS consent is not a condition of purchase or use of any other EggieNet service.
You may switch to an authenticator app (TOTP) at any time as an alternative to SMS verification.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
